A MLS headgasket in various thicknesses will be available in a few months. Cometic is manufacturing them at the request of Vac Motorsports. This means no more blown headgaskets at big boost and even better, an easy way to lower compression for the m20 and m30b35 folks. This is big guys. Big boost and reliability are soon to be ours!

I am establishing an account with Vac and will be offering these at less than retail prices if possible.

So instead of hearing about blown headgaskets we'll be hearing about blown ring lands and connecting rods? :)

For those of unaware of what MLS is (like me!), I googled "MLS head gasket" and got this:

"Why MLS?
Today's lighter, higher output engines demand a new kind of head gasket: Multi-Layer Steel. MLS Gaskets are specifically designed to handle greater combustion pressures, higher and more variable operating temperatures, and constant movement between the head and block."

Sounds sweet!! Nice job, Todd.

Probably dude :)

AWSOME NEWS!!!!! But Todd... the stock headgasket was a good failsafe for the bottom end - with a tougher headgasket we're going to see alot more problems with our "Bulletproof" bottom end.

Gotta start somewhere. If the HG is the weakest point, its gonna take al ittle more $$ to get the #'s that everyone wants.

I found that out with the Nissan.

Speed costs $$.

I think you should go straight to welding the head to the block like you originally planned. :D

Head studs are for wusses!

Hehehe. I think I might try that on a honda engine one day. Just boost it without a wastegate heheh. One of those junkyard $100 finds.

I'm in for one.

There is no week link when you build the engine for FI.

I may just start on another Turbo engine build. I happen to have a S38 3.8L block in my household goods that a friend (Bro) may let me keep ;) :) ;) and a brand new M30B34 head I just snagged off of German ebay before I moved. There is nothing like a engine on a stand to brighten up the garage.
