I've got a Stihl BR400 that would blow the daylights out of that wimpy little blower they used. The hell with TCD, I'm going with Stihl for my next project.
Actually, it's concievable that this could work. There are some 4 stroke blowers out there now so a guy wouldn't need to run mixed gas. Tie the throttle in with the throttle body and do some plumbing. Hmmmm. Todd, this could be your next line of products

I one really thinks about this all they were doing is adding a "low pressure" turbo to the intake, minus the exhaust turbine side because the blower is spun by a motor.
If they plumbed in a turbo into those cars they would get the same if not better performance. Just a Rube Goldberg way of proving the performance of an engine with a turbo or blower on it.

the thing that has always bothered me about an electric supercharger is this :
they claim they dont use a belt like a s/c does and they also dont have a turbo
blocking the exhaust gas flow - so basically no parasitic loss...
however using the alternator takes power from the engine right?
so in order to get more than like 1psi u'd need BIG alternator making
BIG electricty for a fast ass blower...
i digress but i think it turbo is just the most efficent and bestest =]

Think of the exhaust restriction of a turbo or the belt drain on a SC as a good investment in engine power. The returns made from charging the intake are not possible without the sacrifice. There are more efficiency losses from generating electricity from a belt operated accessory, and then turning it back into mechanical energy again with a motor and fan than to just transfer existing mechanical energy. Someone has theorized how big of an alternator and how big of a fan you would need, on this board in previous threads, and its not a pleasant thought.

I checked the stats on my Stihl blower. It's something like 900cfm which ain't chopped liver.
I'm thinking a guy could cut a hole in the hood and mount that bastard right up to the throttle body. The output from the turbine is about 3", pretty much the same as the TB diameter. For a remote mounting system, I've got some left over 3" dryer vent tubing that would duct tape to both ends and be tasteful looking as well!
