Does it make sense to get the

Apexi Super Air Flow Converter Ver. 2 SAFC2 BLACK (401-A913)

S-AFC II
This is a second-generation fuel computer with Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD), based on the concept of piggyback fuel computer.

Some of its key features are highlighted as follows.

It can monitor and replay the following data channels in Numerical, Analog Meter and Graph displays:
Intake Manifold Vacuum/Boost Pressure, Air Flow Capacity, Intake Manifold Pressure, Karmann Frequency, Engine RPM, Throttle Position, and Air Flow Correction %.

Due to the complexity of this product, A'PEX recommends having the S-AFC and other A'PEX electronics installed and tuned by authorized A'PEX Power Excel Shops.

It optimizes fuel-air ratio by modifying the sensor signal of either the air-flow meter or the pressure meter in vehicles.
has an adjustable fuel curve that can be set at twelve-point user-definable levels in increments of 200 RPM. The fuel adjustment will be within a range of +/- 50% at each of the user-defined setting points.

Its Deceleration Air Flow Correction function can curing the erratic idle and halt the problems associated with open-atmosphere blow-off valves on hot-wire air-flow meter systems.

So it looks like this is designed to work with the AFM....

I dont want to convert to MAF since TCD's FAQ says its harder to tune, and people have problems
of KN filter oil clogging/breaking the hotwire...

What do you guys think? PS - this is on a E34 535

ps edit - price is less than 250 brand new

I think you need to get your turbo installed and running first, then decide if you need a device like that to help you tune it properly. :D

lol sounds like a plan =]

i was jsut reading through Corky's chapter on fuel management and
he was all for going as high tech as your budget allows since the
RRFPR doesn't have as easily adjustable possibilities
