tec 3 install, trying to line up trigger wheel

this is for 88 e28 535is, used a trigger wheel off of bmw, but am trying to figure out tdc, the position of the wheel, the number of teeth value to input since 11 does not appear to work based on what we think the mark on the trigger wheel lines up with the mark on the engine does this make sense

Get the #1 cylinder to TDC and then take a picture of the front wheel for me. Are you using a 60-2 wheel off of a E34? It will all depend on where you mount the pick-up sensor.

i believe the trigger wheel is from m30b35 engine

that would be from an E34, E32 or late E24 chassis. Count the total number of teeth on to see if it's the 60-2 style (60 teeth, missing spot where 2 teeth could be)

the car is at my mechanics shop and he left town for the week to go to Fla. for some car event. They got the car started right befor they left. So I'll let ya know when they get back. Thanks Chuck
