There isn't room for a a/c compressor much less a condenser. If you want boost and a/c than a supercharger is probably a better idea.
Not to bring the Tiger into this thread but it has the same issue. Several Tigers have A/C with the condenser(s) mounted in the fender wells or under the rear trunk. If there is a will, there is a way.

That doesn't address the fact that there is still no room for the compressor.I think AC would suck ass without that particular part.

A/C compressor fit was not addressed.
Duke,

He is talking about my e28 not your Tiger. Seriously? Please keep your Tiger talk out of my thread.

Nothing to do with any car including "my" Tiger. You never mentioned that the A/C compressor will not fit. The other Chebby powered E28 I saw had a working A/C system.

There are many pictures in this thread that show the passenger side manifold and downpipe occupying the space where the a/c sits on a stock LSX. I chose an additional 200-400hp instead of a/c.

Meanwhile Sweeney made the brackets for the intercooler and we decided on a strategy for the intake, intercooler and radiator piping.

More progress this weekend. The exhaust tip just needs to be cut at the proper angle. Most of the radiator piping is done. The BOV is installed. Air filter installed.

Image

It's not visible but Sweeney welded a cast 2" elbow to the radiator and then built a hard pipe that goes all the way to the thermostat.

Todd

Perhaps I missed this somewhere in the thread but what's the weight of this motor in its current form?

I didn't weigh it but my research indicates it is only a few pounds heavier than a m30. The t56 is 50lbs more than a G260 though. I'll weigh the car when finished. I suspect a 50-75lb gain but better balanced.

I agree on it being better balanced. I think it's still going to be as light/lighter than a US spec car.

Bill,

The car weighed 3225lbs when I purchased it in bone stock condition. It weighed 3080lbs before the v8 conversion. My guess is 3150lbs when we are finished.

Sweeney finished the upper radiator pipe and welded another elbow on the radiator so it's finished. Air temp sensor bung welded and installed. Throttle cable installed. Fabrication started on the radiator/intercooler support.

Getting close to the end of fabrication.

Exhaust finished. The entire exhaust is made of parts of exhaust from previous cars. The rear muffler is the very first one we used in 2003. The center muffler was used on the e30, Parts from the e34 and e24 as well. Only the tip and hangers are new.

Radiator/Intercooler support is finished. Really happy with how it turned out!
