I used the search option but didn't find the info I was looking for. I am now fabricating the downpipe for my turbo e28 project and next on the list is the oil supply.

Where did you all turbo guys tap for the oil supply? I haven't made an oil change on my 535i yet :D , so I'm not really familiar with the filter-in-a-canister type of setup. Is there an unused port in that area where I could thread a T-fitting in? Or do you source your oil somewhere else?

I know I should buy the Bentley manual, but one day, I'll have the money to afford it! :p

Oil filter housing. There's a spot on the right side, facing the firewall. You need to remove the oil filter assy. from the block, drill and tap it out. It was a pretty easy job and if memory serves was no more than an hour job.

To follow what Bill said, see my BMW M30 Oil and Water Temperature Sender Installation, but replace "sender" with "fitting" for the oil filter housing and you've got it.
