s50/s52 power!!!
But is it possible to mount the kit on the s50 or s52? does the manifold, pipes and intercooler fit?
there are 1000rwhp supras and s52 so that shouldn't be the problem
if i'm going fot 600-650hp, better way to say: the most hp you can get with 20-25psi, maybe a little bit more. doesn't it be better with a s38 or s50?
the head just isn(t good enough with 2 valves, with the s38 or s50, there are more revves so more spread of the boost needed --->twin turbo

you're making it sound like a 800hp supra turbo kit will fit on a bmw engine and make 800hp too, because it's a 800hp kit and stuff.... it doesn't work like that.
but yes - www.bimmerforums.com talks all about the s50/52 engine and turbos

800 HP....................lets get back down to earth here.
We have yet to get one of our FI cars above 400 HP. Now you guys are wanting 800 HP. Lets get to 500 and then 600 HP first (I plan on it) and see how damn scarry the cars are then.
800 is just stupid and will not be usable at all. Its not all about numbers, its about drivability too.

right,
The supra guys that make the big hp #s put 10s of thousnads into those engines also. You can't just bolt 800hp to a supra, just like you can't do it to a M30.

I think that your going to hate 600...even 500...
I met a person that had a 600 rwhp silvia and hated the shyte outta it ...sold the car like 3 weeks later..he said that he couldnt stick and was just spinning tires constantly...was the most annoying thing ever....
Be careful what ya wish for...

I'm kinda in agreement with the what's the point comments here. I know that it is just cool to do it and all, but what is the practical side of 600+HP on these cars? The only thing would be regular trips to the track (drag or otherwise) and the gas station I guess. For sure these cars turn heads right now, but I guess they would drop jaws litterally at the track. That's it. Heck with it - I'm going for it too!!! Last one to get to 600CHp is a rotten egg! :p
what with a GT40R with the tcd kit when the manifold only flows 600hp, then the turbo is just perfect or a little bit to big? I would use somethink like this or with a t61 or a GT35R. what would be the best of these 3 turbos?
i think 600hp is more then enough, that's very quik with only 1500kg to cary and with all that torque.

From what I'm seeing in Turbo Magazine, the supra guys making 800hp+ are almost always re-building the engine(at high $$$). But that engine is a monster, and can take some serious power, as you say.
actually a supra bottom end has been proven to take 1000 hp on stock internals. of course these guys are using massive turbos, custom amnifolds and intake manifolds and have extensive porting and head work done to achieve these numbers.
the 1JZ-GTE (mkIV supra TT engine) is indeed a legend. Software, intake, and exhaust make you an honest 400hp on that thing. All of the big supra guys lately are building 3.4 and 3.6L cars with stroker kits to get the torque the supra has always needed.
But, all of these big power supras are "dyno queens". They're undrivable. They dont hook up at the track, street, or strip.
The compression between the 1JZ and the S50 are worlds different. The mounting angles in the car are different. (the Supra doesn't mount its engine slanted like BMW does).
You might consider using the supra information as a starting point (i.e. turbine specs, pipe sizes and lengths, etc), but that assumes that you make your S50 run similar compression pistons and that you make the head flow the same, the cams are similar, etc. I suspect the s50 head flows much better than the supra head.
IOW, you're better off getting an S50 designed system, or designing your own. The supra really has nothing to do with the S50.
