Heres the dyno chart...
Image

As we said, that seems high for only 10psi, although I don't know the static compression

Looks nice. Intercooled or not? I should probably search for the answer. Other specs?

i talked to jason right after this dyno. he said the intercooler was not hooked up properly i think so basically non-intercooled. he had a t61 and the MM cam so do you really think these numbers look high? i had a stock motor at my dyno and a 60-1 turbo and i made about 360 rwhp but i also had a standalone engine management and deleted the afm. i think todd was hoping for something higher at this boost level.

p.s. how is jason, havent heard anything on him in a long time.

Intercooler was in place but dry so it was essentially non intercooled. He had a stock m30b34 bottom end and a new MM head and "turbo" cam. Still running Motronics. I was pleased with the number. It's ~40hp higher than a regular m30b34 with the same setup. But, torque is abt the same!

In all reality it performed about the same as a stock m30b35 at the same boost level non intercooled.

this might be a stupid question, but what is an "MM cam" And where can you buy one/what do they go for?

MM = Metric Mechanic http://www.metricmechanic.com

Their online price lists the M30 "rally cam" as 280 degree duration at $495. ~0

Or buy an OEM 270 cam for $225.

for what its worth...........im using the MM rally camon a normally apirated motor. (11-1 comp) head started as an MM sport head and has had additional port matching, valve unshrouding, blending and flo bench time.
for an use on an NA motor, it offers gobs of torque and pulls strong to about 6500..it tapers off above that, but will pull thru 7200 rpm.
for this motor..i'll likely replace it with a straight 284 or 292 cam..........

but.........it should make a hella strong turbo cam.......................looking forward to trying in in an FI application

Ya, but this system would pick up power with the IC properly working and some tuning to the ECU. Id say it could pick up 25whp easy with those 2 things at 10psi. Thats pretty stout at that point. Plus, we know that the mid torque is hurt by the cam, and the system should pick up more top end with above items fixed.

Plus, theres always the dyno differences, which can be large, probably +5% to -10% easy on any given day or dyno.

Hey "bmw335ist. I just picked up a 86 535i with M30.... Im going to boost around 7 psi.. I know I can use stock computer. Should I port and polish the head? When I do a rebuild on the engine is there any choice of pistons or cams that are relatively cheap... your MM 289 sounds good. Roughly how much did your turbo setup (without the intercooler) cost you?

it would be easier if he could just tell me "roughly" how much his setup cost and you not talk at all. Thanks

welcome to the club. post away, but most stuff (especially in the FI section) has been covered or at least talked about in some form or another. Us turbo guys have seen our fair share of ssome turbo systems and most know their stuff, its just the constant repitition of peopole asking little things that can get to the best of us. Post up, get a reply, and if you solved your problem, delete the post and everyone is happy. If you have any questions on anything, start and introduction post about yourself, your car, everything we should now about your car to help your situation, and what you want known. Then we have everything we know to help you and we can do so without these stupid arguing posts.

Nowhere in there is any signs of me being angery, insulting, or bossy. I was stating a fact that your answers can be found using the search feature - Yet you turn around and tell me to shut up like you own the god damn place... I don't have the problem here....

I believe he used a TCD system. One of those will run you about $4-$5k depending on exactly what you want. www.turbochargingdynamics.com will answer your pricing questions, the archives should answer any others.
