Well I just got my adapter plate back..very happy with it.
The question is...i cant just have the adapter sitting flat up against the Manifold.....I will need somekind of gasket or something?
Any recomendations? Maybe just a High Temp silicone/Gasket cement? or should i make my own Gasket from gasket sheet? Thoughts?
Here is the Turbo all mounted to the Manifold.. Atlast...i fell like im getting somewhere...once i Grind the manifold ports it will be ready to go on.
My adapter plate! Woo hoo...couple of questions too.

Use no gasket, even copper will fail in a relative short time as it oxidizes and crumbles. Use some valve grinding compound and lap the mating parts together if you're worried about sealing. Another option is to source T4 and T3 stainless gaskets.
With the overall size of the adapter you'll need minimal clearance for expansion to allow the parts to move relative to each other.

Thanks for the Info.
Think i will use Sweenys method...ATM...it does sit very flat..so im not even sure if that would be required Ive already got a stainless gasket for the Turbo. just none between the Adapter and manifold.
To quote you:
..im not sure if i understand? Are you just reffering to when the adapter plate heats up and expands that it could cause a leak..as both the manifold and adaptor will move seprately??
Ive been wondering this for a while. Speaking to some turbo shops down here....they dont see it that way...as simple T3-T4 mounts.
They just refer to it as Small mount and Large mount..... Basically they are of the opinion that you can have a T3 with the large t4 mount...it dosnt matter...or a T3 mount with the 2 chamber port (like T4.)
One guy was saying he has never ever seen a Manifold with such a bizarre pattern as mine with the single port but large mount? has not even seen an Exhaust housing with such a pattern.
not saying your wrong..cause your way is easy to describe it i beleive. Just very strange and confusing when looking for a turbo. here.
I couldnt get my head around it for a while throwing myself in the deep end looking for a turbo with no clue about turbos.

To use a T3 turbo on a T4 manifold.
