88 735 motor

Discussion pertaining to positive pressure E28s.

so i was at the junk yard the other day and saw a 1989 735 that still had the motor and computer in it i currently own a 1987 528e and was wondering what i would have to change to get the new motor to fit and also if the harness uses differant plugs? Thanks!

This might be better in the Tech forum; you might get some better results.

I think you'll need the ECU and wiring harness from the 735. You might need motor mounts from an E28, I'm not familiar with what the 735 used. What kind of transmission do you have in the 528e? What (auto/manual) do you want to have post-swap?

Right, this belongs in the tech forum
There are two threads there right now with this project, mines a third, there may be others. These threads are labeled m30b35, with is that engine in the E32. You'll need fab'd mounts. Those threads cover that, along with computer choice/issures/wiring.

Contact CMW RON on this sight. He did an awesome job installing a b35 motor from an 88 735 in my 86 535.
