The ///M Touring swap has begun. (BIG pics)

On November 23rd...

Last weekend the Touring got its first taste on ///M goodness in the form of cosmetics,
front and rear bumpers and side skirts, along with the narrow hood and grill assembly.
Today the mechanical swap began with the complete rear suspension being dropped from the donor.
Hopefully tomorrow the Touring will be prepped for its installation.

Took about an hour and 45 minutes.
I had help. :)

The ///M's parts are too rusty, so gonna do a bit of hardware swapping before it gets reinstalled.
And just so I don't get no sh!t for you-know-what...

x2! This is going to fun to keep an eye on. Now that the politics on this board have calmed down a bit, it's back to the good stuff here. Subscribing to this one Shermanator!

Don't forget to install the E-box and fan from the M5. A bit of a pain as you have to pull the glove box and pull back the carpet a bit since some of the fan parts live inside the car.

The amount of differences between these cars fascinates me... Love it Sherman- keep up the good work!

Partial face lift, it's a '95 shell, but I want the '91 to live on...

How the rusty ///M rear subframe made it back to the house.

A good looking rear end...

That's the way it all sets today.
I took a week of vacation last week, but this had to get started.

Not sure what my wife has planned for me on Friday.
I'll be going up to B/CS Thursday evening to pick her up,
and since she is no longer working (outside the home) she'll be here to ...
Well, we're having a dinner here on Saturday evening with a few of our other life friends
so I suspect she'll be wanting me to get a bit more done on the kitchen remodel.
That said, I don't think I'll be able to spend much time outside getting my hands dirty.

Maybe Sunday...

Super Jealous here Sherman ! I think this would be the swap I would do if I were to update my Tourings driveline. Keep the photos coming and good luck with the transplant.

While an S38 is interesting, I don't think you can beat the S50, ZF 310 and S3.23 for a fun, reliable daily driver. Transformed the car and it looks factory. The '93 with the swap in Miami really spoke to me as a whole package with the 18" RCs, but I'm glad I went the route I did.

Also surprised this thread has stayed in General Conversation this long.
