We had the man-sized target, close quarters, and moving target qualifying today. 98 out of 100. (Missed a mover)Brad D. wrote:ldsbeaker wrote:... And I qualified today at the rifle range.
241 out of 250.
I think I may have the high score of the ~80 Marine detail. Not bad after 10 years.
I tied with another Marine for range high. 339 out of 350, it will do...
Don't eff with me when I'm armed, it's not for show.

I got my wisdom teeth yanked a few days ago, and have finally had some time to work on a back burner project. I did a quick proof of concept test for my OBC. The board pictured is the CPU board I designed for my senior design project, it happens to have a 16x2 display connector and a USB link, so it was a pretty good prototyping platform. They're talking to each other. I'm still pretty loopy from the painkillers, but it's working okay. The final product will go through the DB9 port of course, I just didn't have an RS232 level translator on my prototype board so I had to get at the 0-5v signal direct from the processor.
I'm working on a more complete writeup, hopefully I'll have something substantial today and can update my post. My jaw was hurting and I just couldn't fall asleep last night, so I did a quick proof of concept test and took some pictures
Also DAMN dem some ugly solder joints, I built this unit a few years ago and promise I'm not this terrible at soldering anymore.

I'm tooling down the freeway a hundred miles from home on the start of a little getaway with the speedo showing near 80 when I spot a slammed E28 approaching rapidly in the left lane. Gets a little closer and I see it has Euro headlights. Then I see it has Euro bumpers. Closer still and I see the ///M emblem in the grill. I'm thinking I probably know whoever this is, there can't be many and I know most. He gets up close and goes by with a thumbs up, it's Logan, AKA Derrith. Must have remembered the wifes touring from 5er West a couple of years ago. Wasn't wasting any time driving that M5 like it is supposed to be driven.
Good seeing you Logan!

We've got an Aggie living in Bryan.djazz wrote:Ran down to Bryan(Tx) to feed the kids, celebrating William's GF B-Day. I was looking forward to a steak at Longhorn Tavern again but there was some confusion with being open Sundays so we went to Casa Rodriguez instead.
Good food, great family time, but I was suffering on the way home.
Sounds like a good excuse to cross paths, if you're ever so inclined.
Ran to Home Depot to get a new Garbage Can for the house and as I am headed there a very large bird swoops in and lands on top of rabbit feeding at the side of the road.
I look over and saw that it was a Bald Eagle!
Very Cool, I have seen them fish quite a bit around the house but it was pretty neat to catch one squash a rabbit so close to me.
The Rabbit didn't seem to move once the Eagle hit it but I was also driving by at 45mph.
I wuv Wabbits and Eagles...

They just built a spankin new Advance here in Hellingbam.
They loaned me a brand new, still shrink wrapped, blind bearing puller for free. Too bad they could not find a clutch kit for the Yota pickup. No profit for you!
Napa is across the street, and had six on the shelf. Good luck, Advance auto no has parts!
