Euro 535i LS Turbo Build Thread - 7/10/19 Dyno update
That would be cool. I have 35-95 in 6.22 secs with just one shift. My actual run was 35-114, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear. Took 8.06 secs. Both shifts took 6/10s of a sec. At the track they are typically 2/10s.turbodan wrote:Now I'll have to go run mine and see what it does in the 40-110 pull. I only have to shift once, but I doubt I'll be anywhere near 7 seconds.
I figure 5 or 6 more pulls and the AFRs will be pretty close to the target. Hoping for another 20-30HP. Will need to get to the dyno or dragstrip to tune the timing.

Remember the twin Turbo Tiger?
He just installed a new SBF engine and a BigStuff 3 fuel injection system. He just posted his new numbers -
"Just got the BS 3 in and it is fantastic, did about 8 Dyno pulls and got 700 rwhp @12 lbs of boost and 23 degrees timing."
His best 1/4 before this was - 9:46 @146.

I will be nowhere near that power level. 500-550rwhp is where the car will end up.Duke wrote:Remember the twin Turbo Tiger?

i don't think e90 m3s are that fast, i put 2 seconds on one at the last autocross in the blown e30 and i had complete shit for traction, i was drifting the coarse and they had way too many cones for it to be fun, i am about in the middle of the miata fleet normally

I am so in love with this car again. It was worth all the work.

My friend had one, I gave him a 7 car lead at 70mph, blew past him like he was standing still at 150mph.Shadow wrote:It's hard to find a e90 m3 to race for some reason.
Maybe they know they'll get owned after seeing the cooler.
There not that fast, a C63 or CTSV will blow it away. Todd a Z06 would be a good race.
This one is set up to be hardwired.Duke wrote:BTDT.......you need a HUD.T_C_D wrote:Car accelerates kinda fast so I want to keep my eyes up.

I know it plugs into a OBD II port, but you can figure it out.

I didn't want to be a braggart and continue posting kill stories. Drove it 65 miles today to NJ to do a PPO on a 420rwhp CTS-V for a friend. The CTS-V felt SLOW.Duke wrote:Whats up? Two weeks and no updates???? Did it blow up?
Love my e28. Still working on all the small things. No big news to report.
Well except I paced a V10 M5 from 65-XXX. I heard the blat blat blat downshifts and he took off. I left it in 5th gear at 2300rpm and hung about 3 cars behind until the engine finally came on cam and I started to close at a rapid pace.
I was flying by when he let out. I can't say I blame him. It's the fastest mph I have ever seen in an e28. I think this car would accelerate until it took off.

Damn, I don't come into the FI section very often but I should apparently! But it was nice because I had a few pages to read through and soak it all in. And watched the video, jeezus.
Yes, I agree, moar updates and stories please. The exterior shots of it on the style 5's a few pages back were...

I have 815 miles on it so far with no mechanical issues. I have a long annoying list of items that still need attention.
Critical items
Tach
Coolant temperature gauge
minor coolant leak
starting issue (hopefully solving today)
ICV (s/b this week)
Not as critical
fancy gauge install
shift light
fan pwm controller
knock sensor programming
plug three holes in firewall
Not critical
stereo upgrade
cruise control
I did install a stiffer WG spring to compensate for the rising temperatures and ended up with 8.5psi yesterday.
It is all smiles so far.

Works great in the Tiger.
