Meet in Raleigh/Garner area for cruise to Vintage?

Post by shagrath »

My wife and I plan to drop the kids off with my sister in law in Garner, NC around noonish on the Vintage Firday. We estimate to possibly head out by 1. Is there a place that you Raleigh guys wanna meet at for the cruise to Vintage? What are your plans for Friday?

(Clongo, BimmerSultan, JayinVA, whomever else wants to join in Raliegh)

I'd be down, but that may be a little late for us to join in. I need to take a look at the schedule of events again and see what all is happenin' on Friday. My pop and bro are coming in on Thursday night and we were all gonna roll (e28, e30, and e10) out in the morning some time.

I'll catch back up with you on it Matt, thanks for putting this out there.

I figured it may be a little late. I think my wife and I can adjust our departure time a little. Maybe leave VB by 6 to be there around 9:30 or 10. That may be doable.

I'd love to be attending (and doing the Raleigh meet up as my In-Laws are there), but this is always my Wife's birthday weekend, and she already gives in to my infantile needs the rest of the year.

With that said, why not head down Thursday night, since your Sis-In-Law is there, and head to the Vintage earlier on Friday?

Hmm... I would and I might consider it... the wife gets home from school at 10pm, putting us in at around 2am. 5 hour energy time!

Youch, didn't realize it would be a late night departure!

I'd still be down for it. We've done it plenty of times before. (Except I was driving Lindsey's e28 with a busted catalytic converter and stock radio. :rotz: )

This time I'll be driving my loud 88 while she drives the van. Tim, what time were y'all looking at for departure?

No particular time really, I just know it's hard to slow the old man down who is used to getting up early and getting down the road! I think I can hold him off a bit by taking him out to breakfast. We are planning to head to the Coliseum directly to watch some of the Auto-X and hang out. Let me know what might work and I'll try to get Chris to buy in as well.

Thinking meet up around 10 or so. Maybe even up around Chris's house to keep it easy.

Let's hear his weigh-in first before we start planning to be at his front door

He is in N. Raleigh near 540

Just wanted to be sure we're taking to the same person. I agree.

Lindsay and I are leaving really early Friday morning to be at the autox by 9am. I'm down for cruising together but we need to leave around 7am to make it there in time.

Did you enter Broham? You SURE you're gonna get up that early

Just giving you a hard time. We'll figure something out. I don't car when we go as long as we get there by noon.

While I can neither confirm nor deny that you are in fact a loser, it does suck a tailpipe that you can't join the caravan! On the other hand, I am proposing a rally point of:

McDonalds off exit 287 I-40 in North Cary
on N Harrison Ave. just south of the Interstate

I'll send this through to Scott to send out for anyone else in the central or eastern NC area that want to meet. I'm thinking meet by 7 and roll out by 7:30 in hopes the Longo's can make that work!

Let's do this

How close is this to Garner? (Exit 306 I think, Jones Sausage).

I would like to meet with you guys before y'all leave for WS, even if we don't make the caravan.

It's about 30 min from garner. I'm game to meet there at 7:00. I just hope you guys can keep up in the caravan ;)
