Hey all. I've been reading this board off and on for a while. I thought I might share my car. This is my 1988 US M5 with an m88 dinan turbo hybrid motor. I call it hybrid because Im using a Ford MAF sensor and split second box for fuel, and a MSD BTM for timing. I have the parts to go to full Megasquirt control and will be in the future. I routed the intake under the ABS unit at the right-front of the engine bay. I'm using a 265 getrag tranny and a 2.93 rear end. The gearing is perfect for this power level. It has a full 3" exhaust with only a megaflow right now. It sounds excellent. I'm running 13 psi right now. Full boost comes on around 2800rpm. Anybody know of a dyno close to Carlsbad, CA? thanks for any input. Lets see if this pic link works.
If that link doesn't work, you can see a couple pics at http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jesseohara/my_photos

m5
I'm using the psc. It was an impulse buy and is not all that useful for my situation right now. It has no inputs, so i cant datalog my 02 sensor. You have to tune by watching separate data systems. It works great for decreasing intake restriction but for the $900 I could have bought something better. The motor is originally dinan built. It came from a euro m6 and has 13k on the clock. It has forged pistons, race rods, and a different crank (i think). The compression is 7.7:1. I'm going to mod the dinan turbo m6 harness back to stock to remove their control boxes, then make a harness adaptor to go from megasquirt to factory harness using a desoldered male bosch ecu connector. It'll look factory under the hood but will be running off MS using a map sensor (sweet!). I'm going to use a VR sensor and the 60-2 wheel on the front of the crank from an e34.

This is a common thread. Lots of people are dumping the "obsolete" Dinan TurboTronics boxs and going with current electronics. Especially if your going standalone(no need at all).
Your plan for MS is the route many here are doing or are going to do.
Keep us posted on the results.
