The Thread of Randomness. . .

Actually the smart phone is only for the regular department meeting where they drone on about budget stuff and new time card charge codes so it will take even longer to fill time cards out. The presentation on valves was pretty interesting. Apparently my agency pioneered the use of triple bypass valves and plunger valves.
Be sure to sign in, . . .shake some hands. Good eye contact helps throw them off because they're trying not to see you either. Thank them for the presentation, leave some papers under and on top the chair and . . . http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=11 ... light=took

So I was looking at the TexFest thread (hence the Texas-centric comments) and I was curious about distances. This is what I learned:
DFW to Houston is a slightly longer drive than DC to NY,NY.
El Paso to Texarkana is roughly the same drive as Texarkana to Chicago, Il.
El Paso to Texarkana is roughly the same driving distance as my home to Atlanta, Ga.
Billings, Mn to Minneapolis, MN is roughly the same as El Paso to Texarkana.
El Paso and Lincoln Nebraska are roughly the same distance from my home in DFW.
From El Paso, San Diego is closer than Houston.
San Diego to Crescent City, Ca is roughly the same as Brownsville to Dalhart, Tx. (I thought Ca was longer.)
Portland, Or to Vancouver, BC is roughly the same as going home to see Mom in Lubbock.
Distances based on googlemaps.
"Roughly" in this instance is less than 20 miles difference.
Also, we need it but I hate the rain.

Yeah. That was "interesting" doing the swoop from Yuma to Houston in one day.
Beautiful, quiet, lonely, windy, and LONG.
(and I still had two hours to get out of Texas the next morning!)
Wish we had some rain.
It rained HARD on Jan 26th.
Then it sprinkled on Jul 1.
Then it rained enough to get everything wet before 630AM last week, but it was long since dried off by the time "normal" people were up and about...

Funny, that's also why I wrote what I did,
just incase you hadn't thought of it if you were thinking about going F&B.
Stay in the Parts Biz, a better life than F&B.
Another funny thing is that I have to help my local parts guys find parts on their computer, usually over the phone and with older parts.
You need to tour BMW Parts Dept.'s and give them advance training on how to find parts....Consulting pays big $$$!!!
Still Pulling for you!!
