Well, I'll be the first

... to post in this forum. And I'll relate a story ... I just came across this picture from 2004 of my 535is parked next to an M5 down at the Danville, VA HIE near VIR. I'm the guy who's leg you can see in the middle of the group. Curt, the M5's (then) owner, is at the right of the group. We were swapping 5er stories and I told him I'd like to own his car someday.

Two years later, I do. ;-)

Dave,

It certainly is Curt K. He's a great guy, and dealing with him was really easy. Nice to buy cars from friends, I did the last 2 that way. He didn't really want to let it go but I think he was ready to move up to a track-only car with full cage and all, and he didn't want to tear up an M5 for that. The car has been heavily used but with the fresh mechanicals it runs like a scalded dog, and the only mechanical issue I have found so far is the very beginnings of UCA bushing wear.

Curt gets visitation rights, of course; I'll have to get to VIR so he can instruct me in it (and take it for a spin himself). All part of the purchase agreement. :-)
