Maximum Boost

Post by grey ghost »

I just finished reading Maximum Boost and I must say that it was a very educating piece of work. I would like to turbo charge my 88iS and needed to broaden my understanding of the concept.

My question now is what to buy. I'd like 350rwhp and a whole lot of turque. I would like it avaiable at low to mid range.

As far as I can tell TCD has a choke hold on the e28 turbo kit world. They seem to be very knowledgable and many here speak very highly of them.

Are there any other options in terms of kits on par with TCD?

The only option for new + e28 + turbo = TCD

If you want to take a shot with used, there are various options that come available every now and again on eBay. None will give as much of what you want as TCD will though. They don't spool as quickly, flow as well, make as much power at equivalent boost levels, etc.

You could go with a 745i setup. Thats what im going with. You will need to do some customizing but it will work just fine in the end. Obviously the TCD setup can produce more power and is new but I plan on getting around 350 to the wheels which is fine for me. You could always have somebody fab you a turbo manifold and build from that. I guess it just depends if you want a direct bolt on or some customizing
