SoCal FS: 1989 535i Cinnabar Red

Post by mojocoggo »

Sold.
1989 BMW 535i with nice Cinnabar Red paint and tan interior. It has a clean title, the registration is good until January, and passed smog earlier this year. It has 208,000 miles and has been very well-maintained. The A/C and heater work perfectly. Recently replaced parts include the radiator, fan clutch, all four shocks, and all four tires. It drives extremely smoothly with no vibrations from the steering, suspension, or drivetrain. Starts right up every time and runs perfectly. Transmission shifts smoothly. There are a few cosmetic imperfections, but overall the car looks stunning.

Thanks!

Damn! That is a damn nice looking car!

So many cars, so little time and garage space (and money).

It looks like the glove box latch is broken. Does the glove box open?

Photos should be fixed. I thought I'd try to do something sensible like buy a website and hosting since I use it so much but it goes down so often I'm starting to not see the point.

$2k is ridiculous for how nice of an E34 this is, especially if you like the Zinno. Working A/C, heater, and windows come on!

I've sent the deposit for this car.

Is there anyone in the Temecula, CA area that is able to go give an unbiased test drive for me? PM me and we can get in touch!

Thanks!

Just got back from the bank. Funds have been wired. Now to arrange shipping. U-Ship is looking like it's going to be $670 door to door. Anyone have any other suggestions? That's for open transport.

Fly out and drive home?

$670 sounds about right to me. I've checked into having a couple of cars shipped, but ended up going and getting them. If you have the time and opportunity, it's the way to go.

This is my preferred method, as it's a great way to get to know the car and whichever friend(s) you can drag along with you! But anyway, thanks to David for the smooth transaction and great communication.

It'll be on its way to Michigan soon! The shipping quote sounds about right. I paid $850 to have a car shipped from Florida.

Yes it is. I've done Portland, OR to Memphis, Tenn in an M3 and Phoenix to Memphis in an E23 745i, each with a different board member. I also drove a friend to Atlanta and followed him back in one day when he picked up a 535is. Nothing like it in my book.

The 745i trip was my favorite though. Thanks Chris and Vance for that one!

Congrats to both seller and buyer here. I nearly picked this one up myself, but I think I would have had to live in it if I did. My wife is pretty understanding, but I have a lot of cars right now.

I really wish I had the time to take off to drive the car home. I have dreamt about doing just that but time is of the essence in this particular situation. Good idea though!

I think I'll be booking the quote for $670 and waiting for it to be picked up.

I'm so excited. Ha

And all the jackwagons that make Tex-Fest so awesome.

There's no way I'll remember everyone. I was under the influence of boost, torque and maybe something else.

Sherman, Jackie, Pavel, Luis, James, Memo, Layne, Clint, Karen, George, Adam, LJ, Nick, Jim, Michael, Nathan, Nick, Wyatt, Amanda, Richard (not Hixson), Travis and everyone else. For those I left out, my sincerest apologies. The trip was epic.
