Sprung a leak where the high pressure line goes into the fuel rail!

Previous owner had all the line done in SAE, and it was jusssttt a little too big.

Luckily I had ordered a length of BMW 8/13mm, so I cut a piece and redid the line there. No more leak!

Thanks for putting me at risk to save 2 days of shipping jackass!

Installed a new coolant reservoir on the '86 after stealing the one from it for the '85 last month. The plastic stub for the hose on the bottom of the one in the '85 had developed a crack/leak. An early Christmas present!

I rebuilt the rear axles on the 528e. Good God Almighty, I think that job gets worse every time I do it.

On the upside, the axles were the last of the items on the "Base-line" list. Now for the goodies.

Replaced the sunroof panel on my 535i. The old one had a rust hole I could put my finger though. It had dropped enough rust flakes to block the drain holes. Two of the six mounting tabs had rusted off.

The replacement panel is in much better shape. It's also Zinnoberrot and stands out against the (mostly) Delphin Metallic car, so I can more easily spot my car in satellite images.

It was dry today, so I started them up and drove them around the block a few times wishing for winter to end.

Recovered the sagging overhead panel / sun visor area. It's now matched to door inserts.

As some of you guys know, I was searching high and low for a rear muffler for my M5. I had some beers with Ahab when he was in town and I managed to talk him into selling his spare to me :)

Finally got it welded up! I had my buddy to weld new outlets on it. The new outlets and tips ended up looking pretty good to me. They are even with the end of the euro bumper, but for some reason they turned out slightly upswept. I think the entire muffler is angled up toward the rear of the car after all of the patchwork we did on the center portion.

Also, got my Mwrench steering box dowel reinforcement welded into the subframe.

Thanks, rmiddendorf!

I'm generally a "keep it original looking" kinda guy too... In fact, i was really conflicted over this at first, but, I'm thrilled with the way it looks. I did the doors in that fabric earlier this year, and this just totally ties it all together. :)

My camera made it look a bit yellow-er than it really is in the above pic... to my eye, this photo better represents the color (and shows off my handiwork on the doors :) )

Not too many parts left on those, Shermo! The MHE hat wears you well. :D

I could use some rust free rear valance/spare tire compartment sheet metal to repair that damnable D.S. bumper shock tunnel area on my son's 535is. Think of me next time you send rust free parts/pieces to the yard.

Thanks.

That panel was good on neither of those cars and isn't good on any of the three that are left back there.
I'm hoping to get at least two of those gone within the next month, so if replacements come along...

Two of 'em went to the crusher yesterday to the tune of $170 each, for stripped, bare shells.

What was the price per pound.
Here they are paying $11.25 per 100 lb (see above).

We're at $11/100lb. I was pretty happy. Highest paying place in the area.

As usual it took multiple junkyard trips as plastic pieces kept exploding as I removed them, but I now have some seriously functional windshield washer nozzles.

I gotta remember to take everything off before I go the first time

Bought these nice Hartges from Graham. Picked up from refinishers today. Ronald says sweet!

Now only need new decals for center caps...any recommendations on a supplier?
