Found M535i/A info.

Well I think I finally discovered that my euro 535i (M535i/A label in door jam) car does infact have the HC motor Unless my conversion skills are way way off.

I came across this M535i/A info page just today, which shows power at 161KW which should equal 215hp.

Then I dug up the original owners manual after doing a VIN decode that shows my car is a non-cat model. Non-cat models had the 3.07 LSD which would explain why it did not feel any different then my previous US 535i with a 3.25. But will have to get under the car to confirm this.

Does this sound somewhat accurate to you M535i experts?

If your M535i still has the original engine the VIN will tell you which engine you have. All E28(s) except the M5 have a VIN that starts as WBADCxx with the DCxx being the engine identifier.
