finally started my car after 4 months and a 5 speed swap... chased a no start issue after the swap... was not getting fuel... instead of checking the relay and wiring I went and replaced the fuel pump (needed to anyway) still wouldnt start... relay was getting voltage... look at the wire going to the battery.. was disconnected.. opened it up put it back in and fired right up. Drove around the block once the sun went down.. was too hot to drive mid day.. interior still out and windows are not powered.
Replaced the brake accumulator pressure switch in my 535is. With the right tools it's easy. Without them, it isn't.
The switch is very close to the power steering pressure hose, and my car has a strut brace, so a regular wrench wouldn't work. The auto parts store didn't have a deep 24mm socket, but they did have a 15/16" socket, which worked perfectly.

Cleaned the engine ground on my 535i. Every few years the coolant temperature gauge starts to flicker around, and cleaning the engine ground fixes it.
535i main ground bad at engine mount bolt? SOLVED.

The switch is very wide above the hex head – I don't know if it, or its contacts, would fit through the top of the Eliminator socket.wkohler wrote:I've got the coolest set of tools for that job. The Armstrong Eliminator ratchet set. I thought the ratcheting wrenches made the set obsolete, but it is perfect for this.
This is a little premature because the day isn't over but yesterday out of nowhere I got a hair up my ass to finish the M1.3 conversion on a surrogate 279k mile B34. Even bought brand new hardware to bolt up the flywheel and clutch when it occurred to me that once those were on I was ready to drop it in the engine bay. Exactly 18 minutes later she was resting on the motor mounts. Today I slid the 265 up to the back of it and am now going back out to finish bolting the bellhousing to the block, sort out the shifter, and install the slave and driveshaft. With any luck I can get the headers and exhaust back on too, and if I'm really lucky I may even have time to slap the DME harness on before calling it a night. All this so I can still drive the bastard while I rebuild the hi-comp Euro B34 that I pulled out last year! I really love my 535.

To celebrate her making it through a Rocky Mountain winter, she got a wash and a little interior detailing.
I ordered some H4 headlights and a new CTS, she'll get a valve adjustment, plugs, 20-50 oil change, and maybe a cap/rotor when all that stuff comes in. I think she's been jealous watching me work on the "side girl" all winter, but she will get some attention now
And then she got parked out front because she looks nice

New Coolant Temp Sensor, new Oxygen sensor, tuned the idle perfect, and installed one of these flat 8" subs under the passenger seat ($113 on Amazon).

Never would have guessed, but after I tuned it real nice using the controls on the side this thing really sounds great! I got the 8" and it fits sideways right between the seat rails, you can't even see it down there and it thumps really solid and fills in the system in such a nice way! 100% recommend this product, hopefully it holds up.
