reinstalled the rigged oil pressure sensor. she started leaking oil from the sensor again luckily i saved the old one witch also leaked but i had repaired it enough to not leak. its technically not an oil pressure sensor anymore i had burned the plastic out of it with a torch and soldered the hole shut so i could make it home and now its in there again because the replacement sensor started leaking. time to buy another one.

Opened the sunroof and windows, turned the stereo up to 11 and drove to Carlsbad via PCH through La Jolla.

Was told that the battery was dead. NBD, I'm not going any where. It's charging at the 2 amp setting. Amazingly the Rat lit right off as usual , except when it sits for a month.

Lots of grill action lately. I painted up a set a couple weeks ago. Wait this is the "today" thread. Today I fiddled about with some fuel injectors but didn't get too far. Went for a rip in the woods on the dual sport motorbike to blow off steam and got a rear flat miles from home. Good times. It was all worth it.

Reconnected the battery and drove it. Feels good being back on the correct side of the road.

Saturday morning - new slave cylinder and a new load of MTL in the tranny. At the end of the return trip from Vintage it was getting difficult to catch a gear from a stop. Put 50 miles on it this morning and it feels good again.

Which means it's ready to go to Saratoga. :D

Put a spare Fuel Pump Relay in the glovebox and fixed a budding no-start issue by replacing the factory-original main relay.

I love stuff like this. I've got a couple of those to rebuild myself, great inspiration. Making old greasy and rusty things look and work like new is just so satisfying.

Pinstripe is gone. Eraser wheel worked out just like it was supposed to, which almost never happens. Still yet to polish her, that will be this weekend or next week.

Actually replaced the main relay, and put the new fuel relay in while I was at it.
(Previously placed the new main relay in the fuel relay socket while leaving the original in place)

Last week I refurbished my 528i's front struts.
New Sachs inserts, new BMW springs, bump stops, etc, etc. What a difference! It now rides like any BMW should: nice and taut but not hard.

These are the old shocks. Maybe they are the factory ones?

And this is what the strut bearings looked like. It seems they were rubbing against the spring perches when turning.
And by the date mark, it seems they have lived a long life. They were probably due for a change when the wall fell
