MS2 Vacuum problems

Post by jrcanes55 »

Alright guys I'm lost now. I got the car running. But it will only run with the map sensor unplugged. As soon as I plug it in it starts to lope and will not rev when throttle is applied. I'm hoping it is an issue of vacuum routing. I am running no ICV, I plugged the ICV hole and it still seems like it doesn't want to run with the MAP plugged in. As soon as I unplug it, it will rev normally. I have checked power on every circuit and everything checks out. No power at any grounds, all seems to be in order, until the map is plugged in.

Any help would be awesome. Thanks guys.

I would do a datalog, and review it with megalog viewer.
Is the acceleration enrichment light flickering when it stumbles? If so, set ac enrichment to tps until you can tune map based ac enrichment.

Hello.
I can see you are just learning about ms.

With unplugged map it means your ve kpa is staying around 98 ambient pressure.
So you have to just tune the VE.

Was the air temp sensor plugged in? That should be plugged in if it's not or it'll run ultra rich.

sounds like what my car was doing at first and for some reason it wasn't getting any vacuum from the port i used on the intake. I changed ports and tee'd off of the fpr line and everything was great.

Thanks for the help guys, I've been tuning the car and it's starting to idle much better, But unfortunately i've got two issues, my wideband is constantly reading 7.5-7.6. I believe it's a bad ground, but I'm going to test this tonight. Second, I'm still dropping tach signal, but it's 1 million times better than it was before, I think I just need to do a little fine tuning and it will keep the signal consistent. One dumb question, what do I need to set the logger to to capture engine data? So far I have only been recording tooth logs.
