Did you replace the valve? Someone on firstfives had a problem with a new valve a couple years ago on an AC car (valve is different).

So, there has been a relatively important update to the goings on for July 19th.

As well all loved Meldrum Bar Park with it's vast supply of mullets in power boats, shade, trees, rocks, one ramada, one Honey Bucket and angry community gardeners, the powers that be in various locations where power is present have made holding the event there successfully a tad in the difficult realm for this year.

As a result, a suitable and likely nearly better location has been found at The Elks Lodge in Milwaukie, located here. <---- CLICK ON THE "here" TO GET A MAP OF THE NEW LOCATION.

While the new location lacks things like trees and power boats (a mullet or two might wander by), we have exclusive use of their facilities on Saturday. That doesn't just mean the parking lot. We get to utilize their indoor facilities as well and from what I understand, these folks are real pros when it comes to hosting people parking in their parking spaces. They also have a bar (hear that San Diego folks? Don't answer that since I know you're already in the car.) and they serve food with such menu items as $3 dogs, $6 burgers and $7 fish and chips... Elk Chips people. Also, if you like to eat off the kids menu, they have Mac and Cheese and stuff, too. Very reasonable like.

This is great news for our E39 owners since people in lifted Silverados and Foresters won't think your row is parking for the beach. Plus Jake and AJ get to use their great diplomacy skills to make people leave if we don't want them there.

So, we'll see you at the Elks Lodge in Milwaukie starting at 10am on Saturday July 19th!

Very well said, Chris! Thanks.
I've updated the original post and I'll be working on the 5erWest page and I'm still trying to get the registration confirmation emails working. Now that I have a working computer that does not have a phone on it or comes from Nokia, I'm hoping things get a bit less "frantic" for me. Thanks to everybody for hanging with us and making the event as amazing as it is year after year!!

We had a lot of fun at this event last year. Unfortunately, it's too far to make every year from Albuquerque (and we won't this year), but I've got 5erWest on my radar for driving season every year.

Room booked. Have an extra queen bed if anyone wants to go halvsies.
House trained, loyal, shots up to date (even that pesky Anthrax series).
Can provide references.

Safe travels friends! Vince and any other SoCal guys, if you need a pit stop on the central coast let me know!

Jake and crew I miss you guys and the greatest e28 event on the West Coast. Maybe next year one day I'll be back.

Thanks for the invitation, but our timing has us through the Central Valley. One day though, I will take you up on that.
Too bad you're not going to make it; would have liked to pick up more people for the first leg of the caravan.

I edited my travel itinerary on page 2: We have moved the first rendezvous from Sylmar to Newhall, just up the 5 a bit further north.
We will be meeting at the Chevron Newhall right off the 5 at the Lyons Avenue exit; it is the second exit north of the 5/14/215 interchange and over the pass into the Santa Clarita Valley. The difference is only about less than 10 minutes.

Well, it's 1 week now. So much more left to do this weekend to get ready. So much work to clear off my desk also.
It's going to be a busy week.

Still don't have AC yet. Working on it. The can tap for the freon can had a leaky valve. Went to Craigslist and found a new can tap. Found out the guy selling the stuff is an ASE tech and works on R12 systems. We talked a little and he talked about the problems with R134 conversions (higher pressures which strain compressors, smaller molecules causing leaks, 70% efficiency compared to R12). My mechanic disagrees. Maybe I will convert the 733i back to R12

Hood not repainted. Well, at least the suspension sits the way I want it to now... :?

Have begun the trek. This afternoon, I stuffed about half of an e28's worth of spares and tools into the pilot.
Along with camping gear and our stuff. I can't see out the back.
Made it to Thousand Oaks tonight, then PCH all the way to the Bay area tomorrow.
Fambly vacay until thursday, then it's thrash and swoop time.

Well, I think I've waited about long enough to unveil this year's t-shirt design! 2014 marks our 5th year, so we thought it only fitting that we recognize this "milestone." The design departs from the car theme and features some recognizable technical drawings that almost any BMW enthusiast will immediately recognize. Reserved supplies are limited to those that have registered and indicated their size request. Of course we'll have some others to sell at the show and a limited run may be available for purchase through our website.

Registered - Looking forward to attending although I will only be able to attend the Saturday show/get together while en route between Portland and Seattle. I figure attending partially is better than not being able to attend at all :)

I look forward to meeting some fellow MyE28'ers and seeing some great cars. I'll keep the Hertz rental car a safe distance away from the action.

Here's the rosters of registered cars. I have a suspicion that we had a form error and some of the early registrations were being filtered out, so if you do NOT see your car in this list, go to the 5erWest Registration page and try again. Please include your t shirt preference, including size!
