745i exh manifold gasket suggestions
What options are there for a gaskets on a 745i exhaust manifold? For the time being I'm doing a stock build & noticed there are cutting rings embedded in the stock manifold.
Re: 745i exh manifold gasket suggestions
Are you looking to install some other gaskets than the sealing rings?

Gaskets would be nice if they'll work. I noticed the surface area of the manifold flange isn't as big as a na car.

Can the sealing rings normally be re-used? What is the odds of them leaking?
Re: 745i exh manifold gasket suggestions
In my experience, yes you can reuse them. The downpipe has a metal gasket at the wastegate dump and the turbocharger has this round gasket ring which is a real prick to line up when installing the exhaust system.
I read in the factory repair manual about spreading a thin film of grease on them prior to reuse...not sure why. Just know I read it. I can take a picture of the page in question if needed, just let me know.

Sounds good. I'm going to bolt everything together run it! I'm sure everything will be fine. I'll run things for now, then sell the setup & start with new stuff when I get bored.

First mod has to be a diff swap.

Did you pick up that 4.10:1 from one of the M5 part outs?
1st 5er gave me a deal on a 3.91:1 from his M5, completely transforms the car. I read an old post from Todd and he said that diff cut 0.5 second off his 60' time alone.
