I enjoyed the erotic symphony it makes at 7200rpm. It's nice living on twisty country roads[emoji108]

When I got The Mistress last weekend, it only had the rear bumper on, and it was attached by a single bumper shock in the middle, so I popped that and the bumper trim off tonight. Also put some sealant on the trunk gasket in hopes of keeping water out of the trunk. Also repaired the left side high-beam mount to keep the light from rattling around in the bucket, and spent some time adjusting all the lights; they were way off.

Pulled the center console to finally screw in the bracket so the whole shebang doesn't move when shifting. Upholsterer screwed up everything. Installed that cool light dimming relay. Painted the grill and the grills on the hood flat black Blitz Black spray paint. Treated all rubber bits to Honda Silicone spray (something I learned from a Canuck at Vintage in NC!) Lubed door hinges, no more squeaking. Replaced washer nozzles and all washer hoses. Replaced ABS relay, still didn't solve problem. Diconnected the damn thing until I have more time to diagnose. Washed and vacuumed car.

Oh, and played Don Pasquale at the opera tonight!

best,
Jeff

A bunch of various buttoning-up before this weekend's short run up to Saratoga, including -

6 new intake boots and some underhood cleaning while the intake was apart
Tried a new cruise control brain - no change in cruise intermittency :(
Popped the cluster and found sort-of loose connector - maybe that was the cruise problem? Will test Saturday morning.
Replaced the steering column giubo (yes, it's jew-boh, not gwee-boh, and I still want an autocorrect ;) ).
Vacuumed a lot of soccer field grit out of the footwells.

I've got about 400 miles to run for work and Scout camp between now and Saratoga. The car's clean enough -if it's lucky, I'll give it a Meguire's-spritz whore-bath when we arrive at Saratoga. That will have to do!

Micah, if you were messing around with the steering column, maybe check the ground for the stalk behind the steering wheel. I had an intermittent cruise that was because of a loose ground there. And of course check the clutch switch adjustment. :)

What is this "smog test" of which you speak of so often and with such dread? :dunno:

Well, it depends. Right now, it's an E12 and an E28, but it will soon be two E28s. Might change them out somewhat regularly.

Did some minor exhaust work after passing my biennial smog test. The smog guy was surprised the paper '50 State Legal' sticker was still readable after being on the car for two years. :)
