E28 best route to take *PLEASE ADVISE*

Post by clyde20 »

Good Day Guys and Girls

I have an e28 525e Euro. I have decided to restore the car and am wanting to go the turbo route. Now my current motor is sitting on +- 450 000km and was thinking of doing a full rebuilt or should I just do an M50 swap?

I will be going turbo later on after the restoration so please keep that in mind.

What do you advise? M50 swap or rebuild the m20?

Thanks

M50 swap if you have the skills and ability to preform the swap.

M50 even if it's a 6cyl its still a little 2.5L and will feel underpowered but its a good choice because
it'll still be really fast when boosting and get good gas mileage. One thing it has over the m20 is v-tech so it's a great pick.

The m30b35 is much much better but the mileage is terrible.
some people like me don't care because it's just made to be fast.

VANOS. V-Tech is Honda branded technology.
