FS 88 M5
FS 88 M5
WBSDC930XJ2791080
Located in Atlanta, Ga. I found this car on mye28 a little over a year ago. It was sold new at Chis BMW in Decatur, GA and has lived in the south all of it's life. It currently has 149,000 miles and is driven 2 to 3 times a week. It was my original intention to keep this car for sometime but more pressing issues at home have dictated that I sell sooner than expected. I have attacked this car with NOS and new BMW parts in every way and have every receipt for what has been replaced, the most major being a valve job, timing chain/rail and intake cam upgrade. The car is completely stock with the exception of the 3.6 cam, euro header mated to stock cat and euro wheel arch flares all of which I installed. EVERYTHING on the car works including AC, cruise, heated seats, sunroof, etc. Rear leveling was removed prior to my purchase and Bilstein HD's were used. There are no dash or rotting interior trim pieces (most of which I replaced with what was still available from BMW) save for the rear seat which has a tear in the bottom and splitting on the upper back portion due to heat. Tires are new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, Brakes are all new original BMW pads and rotors. There is so much to list that I would prefer to go over it with a potential buyer via phone or in person. There is currently nothing that this car needs and it shows. Serious interested members feel free to send a PM or email and I'll be happy to discuss. I've posted approximately 150 photos at https://www.flickr.com/photos/99494566@ ... 4144644630. SOLD

Re: FS 88 M5
that's a beautiful car. hope it goes to a deserving home!
Re: FS 88 M5
Beautiful car.
Maybe even a little underpriced compared to some of the ads I've seen lately. EAG would turn that around in a week for 38K.

Re: FS 88 M5
First of all EAG would not buy a 88 m5 with 150k. Second of all if the engine needs to be rebuild is 15k.
Re: FS 88 M5
eag would gouge their mom.
Re: FS 88 M5
Fair price nice car.
Re: FS 88 M5
Why would a 88 M5 need a motor rebuild at 150K?
Re: FS 88 M5
It doesn't need a full rebuild it needs a refresh of the timing components my M5 at 230,000 miles all original never had a rebuild has had the timing chain redone once
Re: FS 88 M5
Beautiful car and well taken photos, if only I didn't already have an M to deal with! Good luck with the sale!

Beautiful car. How many owners has it had?
Re: FS 88 M5
Bump for a nice set of photos!
Not only detailed, but some were genuinely artistic! No sarcasm!

Beautiful car! I'm bidding on a 2002tii right now but if it falls through, I'll be in touch if the car is still available.
Re: FS 88 M5
I don't see it being worth $22.5K. At least not from me.
GLWS though. Looks like you have some interest.

Ha
And
+1 for this

I agree that this looks like a well sorted example that should have no problem at that price. Not sure why there are still some that continue to pretend that the market price of this car will remain stagnant.
If you're still hoping to own one, then I understand your illusion. I passed on the chance to own a lachs E30 M3 for $6500 and it was seemingly worth $20k+ just two years later and likely more by the time this thread fades.

Re: FS 88 M5
Hi folks - another long time lurker...anyone had eyes on this car and could perhaps share thoughts? Took a look at the one in NY this wknd and happy to share thoughts if anyone interested. Thanks much.
Re: FS 88 M5
I am interested in your thoughts, but I don't think either of us can PM due to our low post count.
Re: FS 88 M5
Thanks to the seller for an awesome sale process and being patient and forthcoming throughout. He has done a crap ton of stuff to the car and I look forward to continuing that journey for the car.
Thanks also to Bdigel and RWL for doing the ppi and giving me a thorough run down on the car. It has wonderful bones and the right platform to get just right over the next many years.
Thanks also to drewinnyc for his recco on his mechanic!
Looking forward to perhaps seeing some of you at the cca Oktoberfest in NJ!
Cheers.
