Raising the dead...

I'm not a frequent drinker, but so pardon my ignorance, but when did selling beer get like selling party/house decorations?

I had a few people coming over today so I went out for libations, there are a couple of beers that I found this summer that I enjoyed and wanted to have again, namely Brooklyn Summer Ale and Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Sumpin'.

Instead I find the shelves full of Oktoberfest and Pumpkin Beers. The end of Summer is still 2+ weeks out, what gives?

I haven't noticed that around here but that doesn't mean it isn't happening. I know Halloween candy and decorations have been out for weeks and I fully expect Christmas decorations and toys will start appearing November 1st.

At least Oktoberfest & Bock beers exist for a reason, but I'm with Cactus' pic, pumpkin beer is pandering.

Also related to beer, I was at a Labor Day party anchored in San Diego Bay today and the subject of "imported beer" came up.

Hot as hell and humid in Chicago, still feels like full on summer. Mixed up some dark 'n stormy with 10 Cane rum and Reed's ginger beer. Hits the spot.

To be fair to oktoberfest beers, Oktoberfest always starts in September, so they're really not getting too far ahead of themselves.

I was drinking Rhinegheist's Oktoberfest beer tonight. Drained my 6 pack way too quick. Now all I have left is 3 Molotov Lights, and leftovers from my Pittsburgh funtimes.

I am actually feeling the urge hoist a few with Tammer. Somebody pay my tab and see me home.
