I discovered that Julie had NEVER driven Vlad before yesterday. I'm not sure how that could be. But yesterday I had to drive her rig in order to ship packages to a bunch of youse.

When I got home last night she said she was really impressed. "It was weird thinking that you basically built this car and not only does it work, but it's drives really nice. It has a great turning radius." (Beyond lots of torque, turning radius always been one of her car criteria).

She did complain that she couldn't figure out how to make the heat work. She didn't realize the center slider basically just let cold air into the car. Haha.

You should give it to her and build a proper man's car for yourself.

Looks like you need to bring the car back down here to drought-ridden SoCal where you'll have no worries about rain in the trunk (at least, not yet....). Keep an eye on your stereo amp; I've heard they get ruined from leaky trunk gaskets.

I realized I had never glued in the trunk gasket. Fixed that today.

Well, some searching will yield possible options as the tail light gaskets and antenna seal. You can't get the antenna seal anymore, but using something like rope caulk or something around the piece beneath the hole should help.

Sunroof tape works on trunk lids and taillights too.

That's what the Japanese manufacturers use to seal tail lights.

Put the RZ's on since Maytag now has the Nokian snow tires on it.

Damn, that looks nice. I love these wheels.

It doesn't just look a bit long. It IS a bit long.

I have two major work items for this car now:

1. Fix the damn exhaust. One option is to use the bitch'n Stromung muffler and tips that came off the salvage car.
Image

2. Fix the dash. The tiny crack is expanding. Worse, the screw holes for the driver's kick panel have finally given up the ghost this weekend when I finally put a proper connector on the brake light switch as my hack was starting to flake out. I'm thinking about having my new interior buddy leather cover it as a test of his skilz in prep for the Blue car project.

Do the rear wheels still have positive camber? The wheels look good, though I do prefer the Alpinas. Cheers.

Camber is now to spec. See below. I agree it looks (+) in the photos, but I think that's because I just rolled it off the lift after changing the wheels. Or it's an optical illusion. Here's the alignment report:

Exactly. Hang a plastic bag of those from the tail pipes. That is what we like to call a "bus," though.

Hey, all I did was search Altavista for "truck nuts" and this is what came up.
