I think I figured it out.
How else to go get the tow monster?
Re: What did you do to your E28 today?
Replaced fuel pressure regulator. Idle seemed to have smoothed out somewhat. Did a quick road test, I didn't feel the stumbling at 2k rpm that was there before. I still need to send the injectors off to be serviced, at 262k they look to be original!
Re: What did you do to your E28 today?
I'm not really crazy about white cars, but white/black is a good look, a very good combo. That's what mine was, although without the shadowline.dsmith wrote:I took apart my doors this winter and finally repainted the shadowline with SEM. It had marks and touch up paint. Also had torn up window guide rubber, so put new ones in too. Those 2 items were bugging me and detracted from an otherwise stellar car. I got it all back together today. I had swapped cardinal seats for black last year and now added black doorcards. Now the car is all white and black. I need to order some black handle trim.
I also made room in the garage for the wagon. Another project to get atarted on this year...

Re: What did you do to your E28 today?
Polished up the original front indicator lenses and put them back on the car, replacing the clear lenses. The left side is wet sanded and polished, right side is washed only. Check out the reflection of the bulb, some pitting remains but they cleaned up quite well.

Still sitting here though.
It won't be picked up until next Thursday,
as the new owner left with a bald set of wheels to get wrapped,
and won't be able to swing back through, Mother's Day weekend,
and then working 4 24s, until next Thursday.
And I'm already . Why is that?

Re: What did you do to your E28 today?
I could NOT resist boasting what I did today with all 3 E28...... the parts car parted just slightly to the right (leaky bottle cap supporting the suspension-less chassis, the save a HOE 87 poised eagerly in the garage on jack stands collecting dust (pissing off the wife's garage-princess R129 that daily sounds its angered alarm at 3pm in protest) and my beloved '82 Euro E28 rotted yet another day under its almost weather resistant cover (thank your local diety it's only SoCal weather!!) since its last rev in approximately Feb. 2000..... Procrastination: Ill get a picture for it soon...... but HEY! I did manage to straighten the license plate a lil last week!
Re: What did you do to your E28 today?
Garagistic ships to Hungary. So I replaced the odometer gears, which have been stopped a month ago.

When you finish...
Re: What did you do to your E28 today?
Replaced the leaking fuel hose between the filter and tank. I think it was original.
Re: What did you do to your E28 today?
Did about six hours worth of driving in the 87 535i down to southern WV and back. Visited with some of the in-laws with the wife and baby. Mixed interstate driving at 80-ish and twisty mountain roads. Even with the worn-out front suspension and shocks it was a fun drive.

Some of my fondest RTT memories
are from those "twisty mountain roads".

Re: What did you do to your E28 today?
Finally fixed my squeaky steering wheel and throttle pedal
Re: What did you do to your E28 today?
Went to the Boone last weekend and on the way back the e28 started idling high between 1k and 1.5k. Went through it yesterday, cleaning the throttle body, icv, and intake and adjusting the throttle and tps. Started it up and it was still idling high. This morning I went with a multimeter and tested the tps and icv and cleaned and readjusted everything. Drove it and it started idling between 2k and 2.5k. I then borrowed an icv from my mechanic and ruled that out. Then, after searching on here again, I figured out it was the Coolant temperature sensor so now that is unplugged until I can get a new one.
Re: What did you do to your E28 today?
I put the new registration sticker on the plates. And tie up cat back and replace a blown fuse 5. Then I fooled with the main relay to get the car started. #2 son was using it to move a friend.

Drove it. Had some Asian man driving an e3 with chrome 'sports limousine' decals on the side give me a thumbs up in his white cotton gloves.
