Per seat:
Four 8mm bolts OR Six 6mm bolts, depending on your seat mount pattern (either 4x8mm, 6x6mm, or the less common 4x6mm).

(additional needed hardware for mounting adapters to E28 bases is included with all sets!)

I am using high grade cylinder head cap screws. Not cheap. So if you want BOTH kinds of hardware (6mm and 8mm) add $10.00cad extra for both seats ($5.00cad per seat) and put a note in the Paypal payment.

While looking for a solution to mount my Recaro seats in my E28, I contacted Lee at Massive who makes the popular E30 sport seat adapters for our stock rails. He said that he no longer offers the Recaro adapters as sales volume was too low, but would make up another batch if we could get a group buy together. Would anyone be interested in a set of these? They are substantially less expensive than the alternative (Wedge brackets and sliders at $400 for both sides). Please reply if you would be interested in a set, quoted below is more info and pricing from the last batch. I imagine pricing would be similar for this batch. We need to have 10 cars (or 20 SEATS) worth to make this happen. For the purposes of this group buy, one "set" is two seats' worth of adapters.

I have been offering adapters for Recaro reclinable seats on OEM BMW sliders for 2002s and e30 chassis for a while. This time, I have some for e28s. This prototype batch is made from sturdy 1/4" aluminum and is compatible with several bolt patterns found on Recaro L-Series, SRD, Speed, Porsche Trophy, VW Trophy etc.

UPDATES: after discussion with Lee it has been decided that the group buy will remain open until Tuesday at midnight, giving him time to finalize the new design and queue production. The good news is that he says these will be cheaper than the last batch and should be shipped within a two week timeframe! We just won't know how much cheaper until early next week. Once we have final pricing I will reach out to everybody via PM to solicit payment. Thank you all again for helping to get a new run of these made!

The adapters will fit all Recaro bolt patterns. The older patterns w/ Ø6mm x 6 and Ø8mm x 4 bolts as well as the newer one with 297mm mounting distance w/ Ø8mm x 4 bolts.

Aluminum adapters will be shipped beadblasted. People can spray them the colour of their choice or "brush" them with a pad.

I am making 20 sets (20 cars). A better price will be offered on this GB, and what ever is left will be at a higher regular price. Last production was 4 years ago. So whatever is made on this production is what will be available for thext 4 years

Individual shipping will be around $25.00cad per set.

That is my personal understanding. I've never had an E28 with power seats so I can't verify, but perhaps someone who does can confirm?

I was unaware about how common manual seats are then haha. i didnt think many people had them at all. both of my e28s were power

Hi everyone

It's been a very long time since I came here. First, thanks for participating to this GB. I am surprised we reached (almost) 20 interested parties, and am glad we did. Production shall start in the coming days after I have established the GB price. The five years old price was $110.00usd for a complete set which is $145.00cad at current exchange rate. I am aiming (I will confirm by the end of the day) at a price of $120.00cad which is roughly $90.00usd for two seats.

I have redrafted the e28 adapters to have the exact same seat mounting pattern as the e30 Recaro adapters which I have sold over 400 sets and has become a standard when fitting a Recaro seat on OEM e30 sliders.



The e28 aluminum adapters will fit all factory Recaro seats on e28 bases. L series Recaros, Speed, SRD, and newer ones too. But please take note that some Recaro seats made specifically for a car manufacturer's base system might not work as it may have a different bolt pattern. Sometimes they may even have welded brackets on them.

If we reach 20 pairs (which I believe we did), and you need an extra set for a single seat, then I am willing to produce two more pieces for that extra seat. But otherwise, I don't want start splitting sets and end up with left overs. So basically, if somebody asks me half a set for only one seat, then I will reply it is not part of the offer.

So, in short, Jedco. It's okay.
