So the 325i is finished and I trade it to a local friend for a pristine 88 M5 with 115k on it. I need to fix a few things on the 325i before giving it to him at the end of next week. Then I need to fix a few things on the M5 before selling it.
So for the first time in a long while I'll be down to one car. How long can that last? No time, that's how long. Prior to all of these transactions going down I buy a replacement for the e30.
A very nice 1988 325ic automatic. It's coming from SoCal. I have been yearning for a convert since my youth when I drove a 1969 Corvette Convert everyday for several years. Maybe I can make this convert faster than the Corvette?

I thought you were going to say you are going to make a turbo kit for the 88 M5. I am going to see if i can buy My freind's 1990 325is and build another 335is for a daily driver. I have all the extra parts to build two 335's except for the drivelines. The turbo motor is going to be a realy big project this time around so it will take some time.

about a year ago i was trying to go from 5 cars to 3 (its a long story, but there is a woman involved, and i cant sell the tr3 under threat of death, and i need a driver), Anyway we went to my parents and my dad was bragging about how he was down to 1 car.
then next week he calls to ask if he could borrow a car cause he got into an accident....
oddly he chose a rental over a 1971 300sel 3.5....
Let's see... I'm pretty much driving the M5 daily, got the 525iT that amazingly hasn't died yet (Tranny is dead and I finally pulled E34 parts car #1 apart for all the bits for it) on the road for running errands and hauling kegs around.
The 740iL needs a trans, an M5 6-speed awaits it on the shelf, that's collecting dust.
The 635csi is STILL waiting for the body guy to pick up, he was SUPPOSED to have grabbed it a month ago!
I hate the S80 so much that I hardly drive it, between the lease payments and what not it's cheaper to rent a Ferrari per mile.
The Vauxhalls are sitting, awaiting resurrection.

So the female mentions.. "Wow, with the lease on the Volvo ending that's great because you never drive it!"
So what do I do? I picked up an '87 535i last weekend and leased a Caddy this week to replace the Volvo.
And I think I found a PERFECT 89 M3 and am still hounding the guy with the 35k mile 88 M5 to sell it.
Heres a pretty good idea. Why not stop spending so much money leasing expesive cars and have a kick around driver like a crappy e30 325i that doesnt cost shit. Thats just my opinion. Im also tipsy so if I wasn't i'd have a clearer opinion on the situations...

Umm, how does a S38 6speed go onto a V8?

It's off of an E39 M5. I don't think an S38B38 tranny would bolt up to the M62, and if it did I'd use it for something more amusing than dumping it into the 740 anyhoo... like my M5.
I'm ripping into Either the E34 or the E38 this week... can't decide which yet.
