I must be looking in the wrong section of realoem, can you post up a part number to get me to that section please? Has anyone ordered it to see what condition it's in after 35 years on the shelf in BMW's parts warehouse?

It's under sound insulation in vehicle trim. The bulkhead piece is NLA, but everything else is available. I ordered the front floor piece new and it looks fine. Even used pieces when they're in a decent environment hold up really well.

Not a big update, but I bought the needed patch pieces for the strut tower areas and nearly completed welding in the passenger side. Weather is too cold to be outside for now though. Excuse the photo quality.

Yup carpet has sold! I have a used one on its way from Europe that seems in good shape from the photos. I also ordered the firewall insulation and floor insulation from the same person. I think it's at the post office now. I also ordered 8 boxes of dye. I'll update tomorrow after the post office. I'm going to try the dye on a test peice and see how it comes out. Canadian dollar is strengthening a bit so I may order all of the suspension stuff next month. My plan is the have the interior done and the car on the ground this spring/summer.

Awesome. Can't wait until your car is done. Beautiful car and you did a really good restoring it. And it's gonna be pretty nice with a turbo as well. Also any chance you might be doing a build on that nice m6 you got? :) Hopefully in the next year or so I will be getting my parents e28 and maybe do a build. This build is really inspirational and great. Again I can't wait until you finish it. Good luck.

I got the used carpet and it looks really good. Pretty dirty, but it's in good shape. I also got the dye. Here's a test piece that I did from the original carpet. I wanted to stay away from the aerosol dyes since people say they are crunchy and rub off when they get wet.
Ordered 8 boxes of this from Amazon for 30 Canadian pesos.

Test peice before

Test peice before adding salt and really really hot water(looked online for some tips to get better results and this is what people recommended)

And test peice after. It's jet black, exactly how I wanted. Re-wetted it once dry and rubbed it with white paper and absolutely nothing came off.

Not much to report. I need to buy some sort of suspension setup next, but the USD/CAD exchange rate is making it very difficult to bite the bullet on anything. I did get my carpet dyed and placed in to see how it would look. I have also decided to go back to the manual windows instead of the power windows.

I also bought a euro 525 for a parts car which I am almost done stripping. I only have the dash left to remove.

The next few months I should have something ordered for the suspension. I have a solid goal of having the car on the ground and the interior 90% complete this summer. Maybe start putting the engine together this fall.
