m106 exhaust manifold to head sealing
Working on a new project. I plan to install an m106 exhaust manifold to a different m106 head that is not the original one it was mated to. Since these are partially sealed by copper rings, what are the odds a different manifold may leak slightly? My thinking here is that all manifold/head combos may wear slightly different hence swapping may cause a minor sealing issue.

put new copper rings in it and you will be fine.

I'm doing the same thing except installing the m106 manifold on an m30b34 head. The copper rings appear to be $40 a piece which seems a little ridiculous, is there a non-factory solution?

Stove sealant eh? I guess it's worth a shot if the rings aren't available anymore.

On my other 745, I used a little wd40 on mating surface of the head & manifold prior to install. Zero leaks. But this is the same head/manifold combo that were married at the factory.
