Refresh my memory. What's the sound it's making. Knocking? excessive valve noise???
We are thinking it is a bent or sticking valve. Head has to come off and gone thru. Needed a MLS head gasket anyway. Todd will also be flowing the H6S head to see how it compares to the B35 head flow numbers.
Engine has had a loud ticking noise since first started. Can't up the boost until it is fixed. I don't have the facilities or time. TCD will be fixing it.
The car is safely in my garage at home. Car cover on. My boys and I are leaving early tomorrow.
Drove it home tonight. It's abt 5 feet slower than my red car 40-60.
Todd
Good to hear. I think that once the engine is up to par and the TEC3 is finnaly tuned, you will be pleasantly suprised and your red car will be in the rear view. Think of it and a dimond in the rough right now.
Yes, my red car is full standalone. I already looked at your tuning. The timing table looks great. Almost the same as mine. Fuel looks good too. I need to work on the cold start.

Ok,
Well, if my car is not WAY faster than yours when you are done, I am not goig to pay you
I think water injection and 20 psi might help that though 8)
Per Electromotive manual....if the widband O2 sensors is being used to compensate more than +- 10% to keep the desire A/F Ratio, the ECU is out of tune. I think that it is around +- 20 % right now.

Those are words to live by. Less than 10% sounds right for correction under closed loop control. The Perfect Power SMT 7 unit uses 5% for their closed loop control.

Out of curiosity, 10% of what? 10% change of AFR? 10% change in injector duty cycle?
Well Todd has been trying to identify the noise. He replaced the timing chain tensioner to no avail. The head comes off today with hopes of an easily identifiable malfunction. The head will then be disassembled to check everything. The engine comes out next and a trip to his machine shop to examine everything.
We are thinking it is a spun rod bearing or bad wrist pin at this point. Either way, it’s a kick in the nuts after all of the time, money and "expert" assembly I undertook in its build.
I am really getting tired of getting *ucked by dishonest people.
Sorry to hear that the diagnosis was not something quick and easy, of course if it had been you would have found it. Hopefully it will be something in the head and will not require the block coming out of the car.
