WTF....lol

Post by 5timesturbo »

So, I've got my turbo installed..... I've got a BEGI fuel pressure regulator an eBay recirculating valve and 30 lb injectors..... However, I can't get the car to idle at 14 to 1 air/ fuel ratio.... is there anyone out there who's ratio is a bit leaner but their car runs good ....even in boost?? I must add that I'm on the stock program with only a TCD chip added not MS on this end....help my brothers!?! Summer is coming and the mountains are calling!?! Lol

Are you running an o2 sensor? I connected my narrow band and it would idle real nice with a similar setup but only 24lb injectors...

Are you too rich or too lean? You haven't really said.

If you need to richen it up you can adjust afm spring lighter, or increase fuel pressure. You definitely need a wide band to tune for a turbo!
good luck

Between TCD and MAX-G motorsports I figured out what I had done wrong with my regulator and MAF sensor. I've since found a good place for the MAF spring and fuel pressure. As a result I cruise at 14.5afr and she drives great......!!! Thanks for all the help guys. I can't wait to post pictures

Well, I've driving her for a week at 5lbs....I won't more!! Lol. I bought an aftermarket 5lb exterior wastegate and a manual boost controller believing I could trick the wastegate into giving me more boost if I put the boost controller in the line before the wastegate.....however I'm only get 5lbs on the dot. Did I connect the wastegate and boost controller wrong or is the only way I can get 10lbs of boost is to buy a 10lb spring??? If the later is the case then my manual boost controller doesn't do anything......

Turbo>vacuum line>MBC>vacuum line>wastegate. Opening the MBC more will bleed off more air intended to go through the line and push the wastegate open. Start a click or two from all the way screwed in, then progressively loosen a click at a time until you get to 9-11psi. Then take time to readjust your FMU if necessary to fine-tune your AFR as the car begins spooling and to ensure that your fuel pressure under boost is still safe. Double check your fuel lines as the FMU increases pressure in the fuel rail per pound of boost.
