We should be able to do this, but have to keep it organized and tidy. For example, we can't be having parts on picnic tables or in the grassy area. Maybe if somebody brings a couple of ez-ups and tables we can have it in the parking lot...

People keep asking to see photos of the shirt. I tell them photos are in the thread. I decided to finally look at the thread. There are no photos of the shirts. I do agree it's stupid that I can't put a photo of the item we are selling on the page where it's being sold but computers, amirite. Here's a photo of a blue shirt. We are not selling blue shirts. Like the lottery, they are illegal in Nevada. Green almost looks like the blue, but it's green. Grey looks like this but greyer. You're welcome.



Regardless of what the green or the grey actually look like, I think we are safe in assuming the design you see will be representative of what's on the shirt, unlike 5er Fest 2009 (I have never worn that shirt).

I have also added a way for the people that aren't going to be at the event to pay shipping for your shirts. I'd like to thank a very conscientious member of the community for that. If you ordered shirts only, I can add the shipping to your order, but don't want to do it without your permission. I figure I'll message those individuals affected separately but if you want to give me permission to do that you can use the "email the registrar" link on the motorsportreg page. Shipping cost is a paltry $5 for your initial shirt and $2.50 for each additional shirt. Scholarships are not available at this time.

One of the biggest complaints about this site is the inability to post attachments and having to host photos elsewhere. Posting skills have nothing to do with it and it's not your fault. I've basically given up. I have like 20 photos left on that stupid flickr and it takes 25 min and two apps to actually share one, no one can see any of the stuff I've got on Google Photos or whatever those shitheads are calling it now. Bunch of tech scumbags have made it impossible to actually share the photos many pay them to host. Something about not being able to steal your info or something. I'm sure there are enough willing people to kick in for the server space to be able to host attachments on this site. The E9 and 2002 folks are sharing more photos than they can possibly take. Not like we are looking to share photos of other people's vacations. Just a photo of a damn t-shirt.

George! Long time no see. It sounds like you're golf game is similar to mine, but somehow I doubt it, I suspect yours is much better. If we get a chance to catch up remind me to tell you a car/golf story. Not mine, but I was there. And I'm not even as crazy as that guy.

No host hotel. Didn't get too many inquiries about hotel rates but I PM'd you some suggestions. It will be hard to get discounts because it is the weekend after Labor Day and there are a couple of events going on around that time (The Great Reno Balloon Race, Best in the West Nugget Rib Cookoff).

For those looking for a decent room, consider the Western Village Inn and Casino. A local Sparks place, I've stayed there and they have good rooms (at least as good as the Clackamas Inn, for those who have been there). I looked them up in Expedia and it was just under $200 for Friday and Saturday including taxes and fees.

I would recommend everybody get their accommodations soon! The Great Reno Balloon Race is expecting to draw 120,000 to 150,000 attendees over 3 days (the same weekend) so if you don't plan early, you may be stuck with expensive rates. I'm a little surprised you can still get decent rates right now.

Well I did just check and confirmed Dave's version. I don't know. Maybe rates very depending upon day and they raise rates online when you view it at certain times? Maybe it's cheaper if you reserve Monday through Wednesday? Weird.

I did go directly to Western Village's website and they had a 2 bed ADA room for $299 including taxes and fees.

Super 8 does have rooms with 2 beds for $230. I'm not a big Super 8 fan in my old age but it is significantly cheaper.

There are some other inexpensive places but given the ratings on Expedia I could not in good conscience recommend them...

I recently heard someone bought a 524td instead of renting a car and sold it for $1000 more when they were done with it. Perhaps one could do the same with a house. Just have to factor in the closing costs, I guess.

Good question...we will get a final shirt count in a few weeks then the t-shirts will be made. The shirts will be mailed out in the days after the event.

If you are planning to attend this event and have not yet registered, please register. I have heard several people discussing and even making lodging plans and they have not yet registered. You don't get a discount for registering at the last minute.

There appears to be a room at the Super 8 and Victorian Inn. Of the two, I would prefer the Super 8 because despite the gentrification there still is riff-raff wondering around downtown Sparks (however if the hotels are full you will have good company though...). If you want to stay around Reno there is the Sure Stay near the airport at $169 per day. I have stayed there and it wasn't bad. For a few bucks more you can stay at the nice new hotels at the Sparks Marina.

If you're willing to drive a bit there is a NEW Studio 6 at the Reno/Tahoe Industrial Center on USA Parkway. It's 18 miles from Sparks but it's all freeway and no traffic. A little desolate at night and not many conveniences (get stuff in Sparks if you need it). It appears they may have a special going on right now for $100 a night if you register on the Studio 6 website directly. I think there's a brothel on the way there too... This may be the way to go...maybe you can sneak a peek at the Tesla Gigafactory while you stay there.
