I second that. The 013 is from the 3.4 745i.

The 013 was better known for its nickname "piggyback" because unlike the us 735 635 535, 059 ecu the 4hp22eh ecu was seperate from the dme on the 745 they were combined on top of each other thus why we called them piggybacks.

If you're not installing the full 745i turbo setup, why bother with the ECU? It's arguably the worst choice, because it is set up to interface with the 4hp22 controller and it limits output based on BMW's purpose of the 745i -- big, smooooove cruiser with a lot of torque. You'd be better off using the ECU from an e28 or e34 535i if you want a factory box.

Well thats not good to hear, I should have asked before i bought them. How does the dme react if the trans controller isn't seen if dme is from an automatic or is it even monitoring communication with it . I know what happens on newer bmw's but i didn't think about when i got'em.
I am only trying to gain an increase of what the 745 put out stock or little more,My original reason for buying them was piggy back dme is supposedly have knock control with it and that alone would help a great deal, but e34 dme would have that..

This weekend I'm installing new headgasket and arp studs!!!!!

thanks for replies

Unless I'm mistaken about the later versions, all 745i's use a standalone knock-box that just sends a signal to the DME. And if you don't have the engine block frm the 745i you don't have the tapped holes for the knock sensors. I think most people find the knock sensor more trouble than it's worth.

Do you know what the people running the 745 setup are doing with the knock sensor input if not using it....?Should i resell
the stuff i got and use my stock 533 dme or 535/e34? i already have e28 535 parts car with good dme

Maybe Ray Avena will weigh in, he was running 535 Motronic on his turbo engine. Don't use a 533 setup, it uses the wrong injectors. The e28 535i gear should work fine.
