What are "cold plugs"? And is this forced induction specific?

What could be the advantage for the engine/performance the use of cold spark plugs???

The idea is to reduce the likelihood of the plug becoming a hot spot and causing detonation. I don't know how probable this actually is, I think most guys do so as a preventative measure. You can run whatever heat range you want as long as they don't foul up.
