Mtech 1 Rear Spoiler Plastic Insert Part #

Hi guys,

Can someone please confirm the part number for the plastic insert on the rear mtech 1 spoiler to suit an e28?

Cant seem to fins anything online or when i decode the VIN on realoem.

Number on the part that im looking ot purchase is 51.71 - 1914 098

I tried searching for that number on realOEM and it didn't recognize that part number (as you found out as well.) This is the page that covers the rear spoiler, it doesn't appear that part is available separately. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showpa ... Id=41_0782

I concur with Stewart.

My understanding is it was sold as an assembly only, and now no longer available. I'm guessing you found that number on the part on yours. Well, BMW I think has it's own internal part numbers that it uses, that us lesser mortals don't have access to, nor are the parts sold separately so it really doesn't matter. So now your options are finding a used one in good shape, or buying a one piece fiberglass (or similar) replica and painting it to look like it's the original 2 piece.

Are you missing the plastic part altogether, or is it damaged? If it's the latter, can it be repaired?
