Hello:
My mother has an X1 with wood trim on the dashboard. Can anyone recommend a conditioner/protector to keep it looking good ? Also, can anyone recommend an enthusiast driven forum for the X1 ?( similar to mye28.com and e9coupe.com)
Thanks in advance.

Most newer BMW wood has a clear coating on it & needs to be polished with a product similar to that you use on your paint. Meguiar's ScratchX is the perfect choice to remove light scratches.

Especially in your part of the world, something with UV protection included is a good idea.

Good to know, this will work on the Vavona trim in the E39. That and some UV protector.John in VA wrote: Jul 17, 2023 5:46 PM Most newer BMW wood has a clear coating on it & needs to be polished with a product similar to that you use on your paint. Wait, what?! The e39 and e53 have real wood? All this time I assumed it was shiny plastic.

Thank you all very much for your responses. However as I hope you can tell from this photo the wood is completely bare with no coating at all.

See this article on E23 wood restoration. Maybe a coat of clear satin Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane will help it.
