Hi all.
I'm currently due to collect a custom fabricated supercharger kit end of October if things go to plan. It's a complete kit so charger, pulley conversion, stand alone ecu, new wiring loom, electronic ignition conversion, intercooler, oil cooler injectors, fuel pump, head gasket, arp bolts etc
In terms of my goal I want good reliable power, anything around 300bhp at the wheels is good for me. I'm not chasing big power by any stretch but just want a build that is well put together and with head room for the reliability factor.
My question is what additional recommendations would you suggest for the head and or anything else engine wise.
Suspension, brakes, drivetrain and exhaust upgrades have been made to accomodate the above.
Thanks
M30 Supercharged
Re: M30 Supercharged
The tune will be crucial. Depending on the head gasket you're using, there's nothing else that really needs to be done. Would be best to use a MLS head gasket or an oring'ed head with the stock composite gasket.
I have had great results with the stock head gasket on the M20 but I'm not sure if the M30 will tolerate much boost without strengthening in this area. I've seen lot of failures on this board, though many of these were probably avoidable with a good tune.

Yes definitely going to get it tuned properly on a dyno.
I'm going for an athena head gasket so should be ok.
So your saying no need to do anything with the head?

Re: M30 Supercharged
For the record, I am running ARP head studs, O-ringed block, and stock HG on 11 psi boost and so far no issues, but granted, I haven't driven it thousands of miles yet...
From my reading, it seemed to me that this is the way to go with the M30, which is why I did it.

May I ask where to get the tools? There are instructions on the internet where everything is described in detail.

Re: M30 Supercharged
This is correct. I bought it from Amazon or Ebay or something. Didn't want to bother w renting one, as I intend to use it again, I have a spare M30 that I will rebuild one day.
EDIT: Holy metric crap, did I really pay $341 for it??? I don't remember it being that expensive!
Re: M30 Supercharged
Cheap compared to what I was once quoted by a machine shop to do the same job.
