Ireland Engineering Crank Hub

Post by sfoz »

Does anyone know if the M30 Billet Crankshaft Hub that Ireland Engineering carries is compatible with the S38B35? If not is there any improved crank hubs available for these motors?

Thanks a lot,

Alan

The S38B35 engines used the same Hub as the M30 engines.

Thanks for the information. The reason I was asking was that my mechanic who is going to replace my timing components looked at it but was concerned that it had a different part number than the bmw part.

I don’t know what the difference was between the factory S38 and M30 hubs were. The only thing I can think of is metallurgy, they are dimensionally exactly the same. I have been using a couple of the early hardened aftermarket Hubs on M30 CSL race engines that we consistently spin to 8000 rpm without a single problem for the last 6-7 years.
