WTB: Z3 Coupe

Post by doug »

Not sure why, honestly, but they seem pretty cool.

Prefer:
2000-2003
sunroof delete
manual, though I'd consider converting an auto if the price was right

Would consider:
M, though a nice M54 would be preferable

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Great car. In owned a Roadster for 20 years. I bought the E28 after selling it. The coupe was always on my list and still is. They’re cheap and easy to work on and mod. Also parts are plenty. Just check for broken spot welds in the trunk floor. It’s as easy as lifting the trunk carpet to look under it.

I would check out the BimmerForums.com Z3 forum and classifieds. They are the biggest Z3 forum on the web and very active.

Also there’s Mcoupebuyersguide.com and Z3Coupebuyersguide.com . They even list the rarity and previous sale listings of every car and rate it.

Good luck on your search. You won’t be disappointed.

Make sure you re-weld the diff.. lol!

Sad to see that BMW spot welded in the diff on these cars... lol.

I would go "clown shoe" before Z3 or a Z4... more of a masculine car.

The z3 is either a “roadster” (convertible) or a “coupe” (clown shoe). And, yeah, not interested in the roadster, though I’m sure there are some nice ones. I felt like I was going to fall out of the one I test drove.

Yes, and I would definitely buy the S54 version over the S52... way more in re-sale value, in my opinion. This is why I suggested Z4 as it seems more of a guy's car then a Z3... sorry, just my opinion.... well, after seeing Nadine Jansen driving a Z3 topless in Germany... I guess I am scarred in thinking this way.... but, heck ya... in a good way!
