Catalytic converter cleaning methods....do they work??

Post by blockerb »

For an original stock 528e exhaust with the OEM catalytic converter mid seciton, has anyone had experience with caticlean or any other catalytic converter cleaning products? Do any of thes methods work? I've heard about using laquer thinner, but sounds like dark arts to me...

Most of the times, old cats that have been sitting are not dirty but oxidated.
Run lambda 0.9-0.95 for 30 mins at temps of 800C - So 3000-3500rpm.

If something actually went inside, backwash it with water and soap off the car, but install ASAP afterwards and go for a drive to dry it up.
