The stock 059 ECU is fully programmable. See my website.
http://home.comcast.net/~russelc/dme/dmetune.htm
With that info and inj size constant changes, the 059 can run 100lb injs and support 750hp with timing changes. If your looking for tunabilty on the cheap, thats as cheap as it gets short of MS.

Right, Todds dyno should be representative of your power, to a point. Todds got better programming with the MS. Id say in your setup, if you don't custom tune the 059 more, then ~325whp on a M30b34.Bill in MN wrote:I am currently running a TCD chip and 15lb. boost. Conservative guess for power output is somewhere in the mid 300's. Not bad for a stock ECU.

My motor's been tweaked. 8:1 comp., MLS. reworked b35 head, port matched yada x3. I think Todd's is stock but I'm not sure on that one.
All that fun stuff may or may not make much difference but I'd guess the power output's got to be pretty close to Todds. It is noticeable, however, that at 15lb it's at the limit of the fuel pump and injectors. It will run wide WOT all day with the 12.5 spring in it with no complaint. It complains at 15 and I need to get out of it.

I forgot about your mods, I was speaking to a more stock M30b34. With all those mods you can really push some more power. What size inj's are you runing?

Crap Russ, you would have to ask all kinds of technical questions on a Monday!!!
I've 36lb injectors. I'm waiting to install the big boys until I get the bigger fuel pump installed and figure out what to do about fuel/engine mgmt. Once things slow down this Fall I'll be addressing these issues.
Snail......I guess you can consider this an unsolicited sales pitch for TCD. If you were to go with one of their systems you would have everything you'de need to go down the road, chip, bigger injectors and all. I'm sure you could peacemeal a system together for less but the reality is the R and D has been done, the customer service is great and while I'm not sure where the prices are at right now, you would probably be up and running with change in your pocket.
Keep in mind that while 12 psi might sound like a small amount of boost in comparison to what others are running, it will nontheless provide you with a car that can cause you to change your underwear, all with the stock ECU and dead reliable. You will then have a solid platform that will allow you to take it to higher levels in the future.

so what all did you have to do with ur motronic to get 20psi to run on ur car? and is that the same as what i should have in my car. this is my first time messing with a 535. ive done hand fulls of saabs and vw jettas an golfs and a god forsaken honda !
T_C_D wrote:I ran 20psi on my motor with Motronic prior to going with MS. The result at 15psi with MS far exceeds that of 20psi and the Motronic. It's all in the ability to tune! I would rather have good controls than an intercooler!
