I've got it.
I have the V2.2 board.
It cost me <$200 for the MS itself. I was converting from carbs to FI, so those extra costs aren't included.
I bought the kit from B&G and the parts list from digikey.
I'm an electrical engineer and didn't have any trouble installing it, but YMMV.
I will be going to wasted spark soon. I'm only running fuel right now.

As you may know, we produce systems and harnesses for some of TCD's cars.
MS can cost as little as you want, assuming you're willing to do a lot of the integration.
In my case, I'm using 60-2 wheel with some proprietary hardware for ignition and single coil and distributor.
Very similar to Todd's red E28

Im using MS1 cpu on a v3.0 board.

For Spark Control, Isnt it possible to splice into the Crank trigger sensor (60-2 wheel), while using MS'n'Spark code?

Yes, that works fine.

I'm using MS, v3.0, msns-e, 60-2 wheel decoder, full spark and fuel control, VR sensor.

On my: e28 m5 turbo, m88, forged pistons, "race rods", copper head gasket, 7.7:1 compression, t4, this is a dinan original motor.

Bought the ecu from protocar for under $300. $280 plus shipping i think???
Made an adapter to adapt from stock harness ecu connect to MS connector. Works great, looks stock under hood.

It takes ALOT of homework, trial and error, and patience to get MS to work by yourself. If you have someone to help, it saves ALOT of time.

Any questions? I'd like to help anybody interested.
