OK smart guys...........water injection question.

Post by Duke »

We all know what the M30B35 intake manifold looks like.

Where should I inject the water into the manifold? Top, bottom, back, front or on the TB side. I am looking for the best location for uniform water/alcohol injection for all six cylinders. I will be using only one injector.

Intercooler pipe prior to the TB.

Is very thin, will need a bung welded to it. I can bring the fitting on Tuesday.

Just after the exit from the intercooler. Plenty of time for full vaporization of the fluid that way.

You'll need to install a bung regardless where you put it. Right before the TB is good. Its unclear how much time the mixture needs to atomize properly. I don't believe you need to put it really far upstream, as energy absorbtion is very fast.

I heard(just heard i know little about water injection) if you squirt a little windsheld washer fluid into the intake side of the turbo it will supercool the charge air. Is that true?

Go to this site - http://www.aquamist.co.uk/ and do some reading. The cliff notes version is "Design Concept" button.
